BUSINESS LICENSING GUIDE
SPACER
- This is the official guide to getting a business registration and license certificate, along with comprehensive information about applying, inspecting, and understanding how taxes work for businesses, and how to fill out tax forms and choose the right classification for your business.
Who needs a business license?- The City Of Los Santos requires every functioning business to have a business registration certificate, along with other appropriate permits. Failure to do so will result in a violation of the code of licensing and penalties imposed.

- Step 1: Know your tax class, necessary permits, and if exemptions are applied.
- Once you have laid out the foundations of your business, please check tax classifications and permit fees. Every business will receive the appropriate permits required once the inspections are done. Please locate the type of business that you own, and note its tax class. Every business has a tax class that regulates the tax which will typically be charged to the business on a bimonthly basis (once every 60 days).
After that, check if you need the permits, such as an alcohol and tobacco permit, or the food and beverages permit. Almost all businesses require a seller’s permit.
Step 2. File a business registration application.- Once you know your tax class, go to the official business registration application, and fill in all the necessary details along with your tax classification and required permits. Explain your business activities in detail. Please make sure that no parameters are left unfilled or the application will not be processed.
Step 3. Business inspection.- After your business registration application has progressed to another phase, check the inspection checklist HERE and make sure that your business adheres to the requirements. Once ready, contact the bureau either by phone or email, and a code enforcement officer will arrive for the inspection, and provide you with results and offer any additional assistance.
Step 4. Know when and how to file tax returns.- Once you receive your business registration certificate, you are required to file your bi-monthly taxation (once every 60 days). After a business registration certificate is issued, a tax identification number is generated for you to use in all your tax returns.
