- JOB SUMMARY
Los Santos County Department of Public Works is responsible for the construction, renovation, cleanliness, and operation of State facilities and infrastructure. The Office builds the State's streets, installs its sewers, and constructs storm drains as well as public buildings, rights-of-way, and service facilities. In addition, the Department maintains all government vehicles and government-owned public service vehicles.
The Department is responsible for maintaining the strength and functionality of all assets and facilities in Los Santos and its surrounding counties. It is responsible for regularly inspecting and improving different assets used in everyday life by the citizens, ensuring they meet government standards, and repairing them when they become faulty or damaged.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Examples of duties you are required to perform:- Roadworks (resurfacing, constructing new roads, sidewalks);
- Vehicle maintenance;
- Landscaping (parks, beaches);
- Maintainance of the electric grid, water pipes, sewers, and water systems;
- Upkeep of State facilities;
- Sanitation duties (street sweeping, facility cleaning, garbage collection, et cetera);
- Perform safety checks;
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Applicants are required to be 18 years of age at the time of application;
- Applicants are required to possess a valid driver's license within the State of San Andreas;
- Applicants must not have been charged and prosecuted for any violent crimes;
- (( Applicants must be able to roleplay in a realistic fashion and display proper character development ));
- (( Applicants must have an understanding of what a Public Worker does ));
- Applicants are required to maintain fluent communicative skills within the English language, both written and verbal. Previous experience is not required.
- Trainee Technician is an entry-level position in the Department of Public Works and is under the general supervision of an Engineer or Chief Engineer, they are required to follow all general rules and verbal instructions given by their supervisors during the probationary period.
Applicants must be able to pass a medical exam, which includes drug and alcohol testing. Employment is subject to background checks and candidates must not have been charged and prosecuted for any violent crimes.
- Able to read and understand maps and simple schemes. Able to read, understand and follow rules and regulations, equipment operating procedures, and written and oral instructions given in English. Able to read and write clearly in English and prepare work and incident reports in English. Able to maintain simple records and make basic math calculations. Able to maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
- PROCESS
- Application — Applicants are reviewed and subjected to a background check, the applicant will proceed to the next step if they meet the minimum requirements.
- Verbal Interview — Upon meeting all the requirements and passing the first stage, the candidate is invited to a verbal interview, the test may have multiple steps. All candidates will be carefully evaluated based on English speaking and skills.
- Training Program — The training consists of learning basic general services activities, policies, and a field examination. Failing the exam may result in a dismissal from the Department.
