- JOB SUMMARY
The City of Los Santos is seeking reliable and skilled drivers to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services to its residents and visitors. You will be operating a variety of fleet vehicles, ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This position requires excellent customer service skills, a deep knowledge of the city's streets, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Examples of duties you are required to perform:- Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, including assisting with luggage and ensuring comfort.
- Responsible for the safety of passengers.
- Use GPS or navigation tools as needed to find destinations accurately.
- Accept various forms of payment, including cash and electronic payment methods.
- Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Ensure that all safety features of the vehicle are functioning correctly and used as required.
- Assist passengers with disabilities, including boarding and securing mobility aids.
- Be vigilant for suspicious or unsafe situations and take appropriate actions to ensure passenger safety.
- REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants are required to be 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicants are required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license within the State of San Andreas.
- Applicants must have no more than one (1) traffic violation on their driver's license.
- Must have zero (0) license suspensions or license revocations over the past 2 weeks.
- Must not have any suspensions or revocations of their driver's license for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Applicants are required to maintain fluent communicative skills within the English language, both written and verbal. No previous experience is required.
- Probationary driver is an entry-level class in LSDOT Transit and is under the general supervision of a Transit Supervisor, they are required to follow all transit rules and verbal instructions given by their supervisors during the probationary period.
Applicants must be able to pass a license-related/medical exam, which includes drug and alcohol testing. Employment is subject to background checks. Employees are required to work at early and late times depending on the timetable.
- Must have knowledge of laws and procedures for the safe operation of a motor vehicle, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Able to read and understand maps. Able to read, understand, and follow rules and regulations, vehicle operating procedures, vehicle laws, and written and oral instructions given in English. Able to read and write clearly in English and prepare accident and incident reports in English. Able to maintain simple records and make basic math calculations. Able to maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees. Able to handle confrontational passengers effectively.
- PROCESS
- Application — Applicants are reviewed and subjected to background checks, the applicant will proceed to the next step if they meet the minimum requirements.
- Oral Interview — Upon meeting all the requirements and passing the first stage, the candidate is invited to an oral interview, the test may have multiple steps. All candidates will be carefully evaluated and only those considered best qualified will be invited to the next step.
- Probationary period — During the probationary period, employees are evaluated to assess their performance, suitability for the role, and alignment with the organization's values and goals. Failure to meet department expectations will result in a dismissal.
